The number of photographic competitions is growing from year to year, not the least in the field of nature photography. I try to participate in some of them, as it is a good possibility to stay visible in this very competitive field.

A few days ago the prize winners of the Italian Asferico competition were announced , and I am pleased to notice that I was awarded with a first prize in the category for picture stories. The images were taken from my series of the emperor penguins in the Weddell Sea.

Another image was awarded with a honorary mention in the plant category.
