The unspoilt polar environment of Svalbard/Spitsbergen is a unique place on earth. An increasing number of photographers and keen naturalists discover this arctic gemstone, and the demand for quality trips is growing. Usually, these trips are quite expensive, but fortunately a new operator has been able to launch a series of voyages that come out with a very modest pricing. The vessel used is the small and versatile M/S Origo, carrying just 12 passengers, each in a single cabin(!). This means maximal flexibility for the passengers. The food and quality of the service is superb, and the price is remarkably low, appr. EUR 4800,-/GBP 4000,- .
In addtion to a professional Svalbard guide, I will join the trip to ensure the best possible photographical results for the passengers.
In early summer, the arctic nature is teeming with birds. Therefore we will focus not only on polar bear and walrus, but we also pay a lot of attention to the fascinating birdcliffs with hundreds of thousands of little auks, Brünnich’s guillemots, fulmars and kittiwakes in high acitivity. The partly snow-covered terrain also invites to interesting landscape photography.
